MR. STIR is a studio for architecture and urban design founded by Maarten Huls
\nand Martijn van Bussel. The partners founded the studio in 2020 following 4 years
\nof collaboration. MR. STIR is based in Eindhoven (NL) and Neerharen (BE).<\/p>\n

Maarten Huls (1979) received his master’s degree in architecture (cum laude)
\nat the \u2018Maastricht Academy of Architecture\u2019 (MMA+). His graduation project “Room Without a Ceiling”
\nwas selected for the Biennial Archiprix International and the EAP. Maarten taught as a guest teacher
\nat the \u2018Maastricht Academy of Architecture\u2019 and the Facult\u00e9 d\u2019architecture de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Li\u00e8ge.
\nIn 2008 he was invited to work for the Shanghai-based studio Neri&Hu Design and Research Office.<\/p>\n

After setting up his own architecture studio in Maastricht (NL) in 2012 and in Neerharen (BE) in 2017
\nhe co-founded MR. STIR architect + planner with Martijn van Bussel in 2020.<\/p>\n

Martijn van Bussel (1978) received his master\u2019s degree in urban design at the Eindhoven University
\nof Technology with his graduation project \u201cBeautiful Garbage\u201d. He taught as a guest teacher
\nat the \u2018Maastricht Academy of Architecture\u2019 and teaches at the Breda University op applied sciences.
\nIn 2014 Martijn initiated the research by design on the living preferences of knowledge workers
\nin shrinking regions \u201cJe Zal Er Maar Wonen\u201d.<\/p>\n

After working for several municipalities and design offices he started his own urban design studio
\nin Stein (NL). In 2020 he co-founded MR. STIR architect + planner with Maarten Huls.<\/p>\n
